Your identity is a central point of convergence for space and time, in your life. Your identity creates and influences your experience of space and time, but is also influenced by the way that time and space present themselves in your life. Most people think of time as linear and they are trapped by the tick of the clock, and the monotonous grind of living on someone else’s schedule. Most people think of space as fixed and static, and so only see what is available within the immediate space that is available to them.
The space/time magician knows that time is not inherently linear and that space is much more fluid and flexible than it seems. The key to unlocking the secrets of space and time is identity.
I started exploring space/time magic in my early twenties. I was intrigued by the ideas that Phil Hine and Peter Carroll shared in their books on chaos magic and I wanted to see how I could apply them to my life. I quickly began developing my own processes and ultimately a system of space/time magic, which I shared in my book Space/Time Magic.
And yet, as all things, do my system and practice of space/time magic has evolved, as I’ve evolved. I came to a fundamental realization that I could change my experience of space and time by changing my identity. When I change my identity, I change the space I am in and the possibilities that are present in it. I change my relationship with time, because I discover new paths available to my new identity.
One of the processes I’ve developed is called Iterative Magic. Iterative Magic uses the power of repetition and iterative processing with cyclical magic. Whether you’re doing magic everyday or you’re doing it at a specific time of the month or drawing on specific natural rhythms of the universe, you can use this process to create a pattern in space and time that generates momentum behind the results you are creating. I use this process when designing my life and I continually find that it generates consistent results that shape my identity and also my relationship with space and time.
A practical example of that is unfolding in my life lately. I stepped out of my identity as a customer support representative at a software company and chose to embrace a new identity as a therapist. Then I stepped out of that identity when I realized I didn’t want to go back to graduate school, and chose instead to step fully into my identity as a content creator, writer, magician, and men’s coach. The last month and a half has been a wild adventure where the possibilities have changed almost over night.
I picked the identity, and I am lining up time through the cyclical spiral and aligning it to the fluidity of space to open the doors of possibilities and reach into them to manifest a new reality.
Through all of it I've connected intimately with the current of time and the flow of space, dancing with the chaos to create the new order of my life. I’ve used iterative magic as part of my process, but also used other techniques which I’ll be sharing in my class Advanced Space Time Magic, which starts Tonight. This is a rare opportunity because what I’m teaching isn’t just advanced techniques, but also the evolution of a system of magic as it is continuing to evolve. It’s also your last opportunity to sign up for the class for the next two years, so if you’re interested in learning how to apply my evolving system of spacetime magic, click the link above or the picture below. I’d love to see you in the class.
