I’ve lately been reading Sigil Witchery by Laura Zakroff (affiliate link). I decided to read this book to see what the author had to offer about sigils and what I’m liking about this book is that what the author essentially does is encourage people to get curious about what they can do with sigils. Instead of sticking with a rigid methodology or set of practices the author encourages readers to personalize their work with sigils and make that work their own. I’ve always found that this approach to magic is what makes a person’s magic work the best. We make the magic our own and through that personalization we discover what it can really do for us.

Like the author, I’m an artist as well as a writer. A lot of my approach to magical work is currently based around either artistic/poetic/prose writing and speaking of magic or it is somatic based altered states of consciousness. These are the latest iterations of my magical style. Sometimes I still draw on what might be considered classical approaches to magic, but even those classical approaches to magic are informed by the current methodologies I’m applying to my magical work.
