Why the angle matters in magical work
Lately I’m reading the Preeminent Curse by S. Connolly. One of the interesting points she makes about magical work in general is how the angle matters when it comes to picking out the approach you’ll take with magical work in order to get your result. I agree that the angle does matter. In a given situation, with magical work, its important to look at the situation from a variety of different perspectives to help you achieve your outcome.
When I put together a magical working, whether for the purposes of experimentation or to get a specific result, I consider the angle or angles that will help me get the result. I prefer to take a multi-pronged approach to my magical work, so that if one angle doesn’t work out, another one will still lead to the result I want. When we cover all the angles in our magical work (and indeed in non-magical situations) we set the stage for success.
So how do you factor in and plan for all the angles?
