As an Aphant, and being a multisensory Aphant at that, I freaking can’t stand how everything / most things are geared toward visualization. For those who don’t know, an Aphant is a person who has an aphantasic brain or aphantasia, and we cannot visualize as our mind is blind. As a multisensory Aphant, I am not able to pick up on other senses in my body if I am not actually experiencing it. It has other fun stuff too, but that’s a simple overview. Anyway, I do appreciate your thoughts on visualization and attempts at being less locked in on / getting away from visualization. So, K’ayasOTa (thank you) for that. Also I was born with aphantasia so I have never been able to visualize and have no idea what that’s like anyway.
I appreciate you sharing this perspective...it speaks directly to what I am talking about. We need to celebrate and recognize all the ways of being and knowing and this is a good reason why.
As someone who has felt broken for most of my life because I have a hard time visualizing, I found this to be a refreshing take.
There is such a difference between visually (or clairvoyant) observing an experience and being inside of it. Utilizing ALL of our sensory and extra sensory perceptions allows for more inflow and points of contact/resonance with what we are experiencing and creating.
It seems sometimes people get very attached to and identified with their dominant Clare or “gift” or physical sense, which can be very limiting. It’s like the overdevelopment of one muscle, which actually leads to overall weakness, or a limiting of the full range of experience.

I’m looking forward to your class!
I find this is why its important to have a more inclusive modality that integrates all of the senses as opposed to privileging one sense.

That's exactly what happens
